CONSENSUS MECHANISMS
Many of the different consensus mechanisms that have been implemented in practice or proposed in theory fall within the two broad categories of Proof of Work (PoW) and Proof of Stake (PoS) mechanisms.
The design of these mechanisms affects the trade-off between the incentives needed to maintain a decentralized blockchain and the security against malicious attacks that can compromise the blockchain’s integrity.
You can contribute to the building of a set of case studies that will convey these contents effectively within the context of a learning module.
Come join us at the Consensus Mechanisms Lab Event on 3rd June at the USC campus!

WHY BLOCKCHAIN?
Many European entrepreneurs, angel investors and incubator managers are still
unaware of the potential benefits the adoption of blockchain and DLTs can offer.
Many European Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have shown interest in
blockchain, but their curricula lack real world cases.
There is a need for new ways of providing high-quality training in the blockchain & DLT field.
WHICH VISION?
8 thematic priorities:
- Peer-to-peer database design
- Encryption techniques
- Consensus mechanisms
- Digital signatures
- Property rights
- Smart contracts
- Distributed autonomous organizations
- Blockchain-based decentralized applications
